Blackie, The Horse That Stood Still
TPF is publishing a children's book about our favorite horse -
Tiburon's Blackie. Written by
Christopher Cerf and Paige Peterson in
playful, rhyming text, "Blackie, The Horse Who Stood
Still" includes 45
of Paige's lyrical full-color illustrations.
It will be released on September 19th and is published by
the Tiburon Peninsula Foundation and Welcome
Enterprises, and will be distributed by Random

Blackie's Student Brigade (BSB)
TPF has teamed up with Richardson Bay Audubon
Center and Sanctuary to create Blackie's
Student Brigade, a volunteer effort to engage our
youth as stewards of the environment. Projects
include planning
the restoration of Blackie's Creek and
working with local schools to create ongoing
programs in the community. [Learn

Disaster Preparedness - 72 Hours - Every Household
Under the direction of a task force
in partnership with the Belvedere Community
Foundation, Town of Tiburon and City of Belvedere
and Tiburon Peninsula Foundation, this project's
goal is that every household on the Tiburon
Peninsula be prepared to survive for 72 hours in the
event of a regional disaster. A survival manual,
training, and emergency preparedness kits are
included in this community awareness project. [Learn

Blackie's Garden
TPF honored Harvey
Rogers, the Belvedere Master Gardener, who has been
coordinating over 30 volunteers for 8 years to keep
this garden beautiful. Annually, the TPF, Town of
Tiburon, Belvedere Community Foundation and City
of Belvedere support the planting and maintenance of
the garden at the entrance to Blackie's Pasture.

Landmarks Society

TPF
has joined efforts to support the Oral History
Project and the restoration of Lyford's Stone Tower.
Blackie's Grove
TPF underwrote the grading and re-seeding of the
'bay side' of Blackie's Pasture, as well as the
creation of a natural park along the water with
places to wander and sit to enjoy our environs.
Blackie's Big Birthday Bash
In 2003, TPF presented and sponsored a community
event along with a carnival to celebrate Blackie's Birthday.TPF
partnered with many non-profit
organizations to help them raise funds during this
lively day.
- Landscaping the multi-use Path by San Rafael Avenue and the Secret Garden along Richardson Bay
shoreline.
- Belvedere - TPF contributed to the new
Children's Playground and the Basketball Hoops in
Belvedere Park.
- TPF is a contributor to Friday Nights on Main
and Oktoberfest, very special all-community events.
- TPF accepts grant requests throughout the year.
